The ACCUPLACER is required for all first-time students who do not have current ACT/SAT scores or who have not met the ACT/SAT requirement.
The ACCUPLACER consists of three sections; Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, and Math.
All students are required to show a non-expired picture ID prior to testing. The testing location is in the Wolverine Service Center, 1165 W. 800 S., just north of the main campus.
UVU Students ONLY
The ACCUPLACER is given on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday during office hours, with the last test given out 2 hours prior to closing.
There is a $10.00 fee for taking the test the first time. Additional testing will cost $10.00 per section or $30.00 to retake the entire exam.
The cost for non-UVU students is $50, on a walk-in basis.
If you find a location near you that gives the Accuplacer, you can take the exam and fax an official score report to us. Our fax number is (801) 863-7076. Make sure you take the Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, and Math portions.
If you cannot find a location that offers the Accuplacer, you will need to locate a college or a university in your area that is willing to proctor a computer based exam. They must be able to monitor the administration at all times. Also, they cannot be someone you know personally or professionally. When you find a location, contact our call center at (801) 863-8482 with the testing location's name, contact person's name who will be administering the exam, their phone and fax number.
The cost to retake the Accuplacer is $10 per subject. Effective as of February 6th, 2013, testers are permitted to three retakes in a six week period, with those retakes being at least one day apart.
