UVU will wait for YOU

Deferred Admission

Plan for your future by deferring your admission.

Take advantage of UVU's deferred admission program, which encourages future students to apply now, but enroll in courses upon their return. If you're a current student, meaning you have already enrolled in at least one class at UVU, this is called a leave of absence. Both offer big advantages, including:

  • Hold your scholarship
  • Get priority registration upon returning
  • Designate someone to register for your classes prior to your return
  • Access financial aid or veteran’s benefits
  • Determine your future class schedule

Note: Out-of-state tuition waivers and Western Undergraduate Exchange tuition rates may not be applied toward deferred admission.

If you wish to defer your admission, you first need to apply to UVU, complete the admission process and receive a UVID. Once you have been admitted, login to UVLink and answer these four questions to complete the process. If you have any questions, contact the leave of absence coordinator by email at deferredadmission@uvu.edu.
