Admissions Steps
Taking the ACT
All UVU applicants must submit an ACT score. You may complete this step by completing any of the following options:
Option 1: ACT National Test
To take the national test, send in the registration form or apply online at http://www.act.org
For test dates visit the offical ACT website
Option 2: Take the ACT Residual Test at UVU
The ACT Residual Test is offered every Friday at Testing Services, located in the Wolverine Service Center at 8:30 a.m. (campus map) The cost is $35 and is only valid at UVU. A 60 waiting period is required before retaking the ACT Residual Exam.
Exceptions:
- Students 21 or older by the admissions deadline
- Students with 15 transferable credits posted to their UVU transcript (Please note that if English and math do not meet the criteria, the New Student Assessment will still be required before registering for classes)
- Students registered for high school concurrent enrollment courses
- International students

Taking the SAT Exam
The SAT test will also be accepted to fulfill the college test requirement, so you could take the SAT test if you would prefer it over the ACT. SAT information can be found at:

Exceptions
...Students 21 or older by the admissions deadline.

In addition, the College requires official transcripts of all previous college and high school work or, if applicable, GED or other certification of high school completion.
Please note: ACT or SAT scores are required before you are eligible for registration.
Acceptance and resident status will be determined by the Admissions Office. A declaration of major is accomplished through the Application for Admission. Students desiring to change their majors after acceptance to the College are required to meet with an Academic Advisor.
