Each college or school is represented by both an academic advisor/counselor and an administrator. Advisors serve two-year terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms and are identified by each college/school in a manner deemed appropriate by the Dean. It is recommended that advisors be selected by their peers. Advisor membership is rotated every two years according to the following schedule: Even Years | Odd Years (see chart below). Administrators are appointed by the Dean and reviewed annually.
Specialty/Support unit representatives are appointed by the administrative lead responsible for the represented departments. Consideration is given to seek the voice of the practicing advisor in addition to administration. Representatives serve two-year terms and may be reappointed. Membership is rotated every two years according to the following schedule: Even Years | Odd Years (see chart below).
The AC may add additional representative slots to best meet the needs of the support/specialty advising units.
