UVUPay Credit Card System |

UVUPay is a joint venture between the AIS and Finance & Business Services departments on campus. UVUPay allows campus departments to accept credit cards in person or on-line for services. This system allows all departments to leverage one merchant account, which allows for easier reconciliation and management by Business Services. The level of automation provided by this system makes it a very low-cost option for departments to accept credit card and electronic check payments. (Includes Banner Integration) |

The most visible result of the IDM system is the ability to have the same password across many of the campus systems. Our Time and Attendance system was created to provide departments with a low-cost system to track time and attendance for their employees. It includes multiple time check in & check out methods, (can lock down or limit for specific areas), they include Phone System Integration, web, card swipe, card tap, 10 key, standard keyboard, touchscreen, text for current status etc... The system allows employees to submit changes for approvals, missed punches etc... Managers can approve or deny requests and then submit to banner payroll with 1 click. (Banner Integrated) | x6550 |

Que & Linewait Line Manager |

The Que and Linewait systems are used in Academic advising, Financial Aid, the testing center and many other areas where students wait in line for services. These systems keep the students and support staff informed of their current wait statuses which makes the lines move more smoothly and helps departments better handle and prepare for peak times. Linewait directs people to stations/windows as they become available. The Que System is integrated with banner and shows the students where they are on the list with a "wait monitor" and gives the advisors info about the student before they call them in. The integration with Banner makes this a very valuable tool. |

The long distance billing system was created to automate the reimbursement process of employee personal long distance phone calls on the campus phones. Departments are billed automatically via Banner Transfer and the accountability for personal long distance calls is pushed to the Employee. This system also allows employees to pay for personal phone calls on-line with a credit card. Used to be a big issue, with all the cell phones, not so much anymore but it's still used every month. |

The "One Stop" counter at UVU is a go to spot for general information on Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, some Cashiering etc... It allows students to take care of more issues in "One Stop". The products used include primarily Cashiering, Parking, Linewait & Que. The screen/interface is designed for the One Stop staff and integrates the interfaces into a single point which makes life much simpler for these generalist experts. Financial Aid issues that One Stop does not handle can be passed into the Financial Aid Que and advisors are notified and can handle the students in the order that they are scheduled. | x6550 |

The Automotive system was created in 2 parts. First as a "Service Order System" so second year students can experience running a shop, checking in customers, and tracking ASE tasks and diagnostic data with customer interaction in a, close to, real world experience. Second, a "Tool Shop System" that integrates with the service order system to be the gatekeeper on ordered parts, cores etc... tool check out/in for students, tracks inventoried supply allocations to classes or students and pull sheet functionality for lab/class materials for instructors. Of course the system is integrated with banner data to track students with classes and allocate resources where they are being consumed as well as monitoring access to the system based on who's registered for the classes. | x6550 |

The Gear-Up system is based on a Grant that helps High school students transition to the University with support services, tuition grants etc... Working with a Government Grant requires the tracking and reporting of progress, results and other criteria. The Issue Room system is used by athletics as a check out system for lockers, gear & UVU issue gym clothes. It is a DOS or Linux based system designed for the speed of handling the rushes of students between classes. It also tracks locker assignments and lock combinations. Due to the growing University and record enrollment we needed to find a way to handle the extra admissions applicants and processing workload without raising expenses. Automating a few of the Admissions processes has eliminated over 10 man-hours per week that had previously been wasted using the old process , check's and balance are now in place to insure all newly accepted students receive their acceptance letters in a timely manner. The UVU Admissions Office handles over 29,000 applications every year with a staff of 3 FT and 3 PT positions this automation has allowed the Admissions Office to be the most efficient Admissions Department of all of the USHE Institutions. | x6550 |

Event Tracking iPod app |

This app was developed to replace a very high priced system that after a few years was still not functional. We use iPods with card swipers set-up to read some basic identifying inormation on students to track/allow them into various events on campus. A rolling counter updates all iPods with total attendance numbers instantly during the events. Multiple iPods can be used and locations can be tracked to better handle crowd flow. The back end of the system reports real-time on who attended, their majors, year in college, etc... | x6550 |
