UVU is accepting applicants for the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) Summer and Fall Internships.
The program will allow the individual to become a member of the Airport Operations Team and to work “behind the scenes” at Salt Lake City International Airport. The commitment is not to be an observer, but to study and understand the principles and objectives inherent in the world of airport management. Our curriculum is designed to provide the individual skills needed in communication, critical thinking, and teamwork, which are required to be successful in the dynamic world of Airport. Interns spend time in Airport Operations, Access Control Operations, Airport Control Center, Landside Operations, Airport Rescue Firefighting (ARFF), Airport Police, Airport Shuttle Operations, Emergency Program Management, General Aviation Management and Human Resources.
The Summer internship is an unpaid, part-time commitment running two-days per week for the month of July; it typically follows a Tuesday/Thursday schedule but can be adjusted to accommodate individual schedules.
The Fall internship is a full-time, 14-week commitment compensated at the rate of $10.00 per hour.
Four competitive selected internships are available for Summer 2014 and one qualified individual will be selected for the Fall 2014 internship.
Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to Ryan Leick at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than March 31st, 2014. Students will receive feedback on their applications and are expected to incorporate the recommendations before final applications are submitted to Salt Lake City International Airport.
