Recently several UVU School of Aviation Sciences students were able to tour the Salt Lake City International Airport. The tour, which is available to both aviation administration and professional pilot students, is organized by Dr. Ryan Leick and held each semester. Dave Korzep, CM, is Airport Operations Superintendent at Salt Lake International, and directed the tour of some of the airport operations facilities – including the equipment used for SLC’s award-winning snow removal system – and the movement area. After the tour, students met with Randy Berg, AAE, who is the Director of Operations for the Salt Lake City Department of Airports. Both Dave and Randy emphasized the importance of working in a field you’re passionate about. “I’ve been working here for over 25 years and I still look forward to coming to work,” Dave said. “A successful career is all about working hard and enjoying what you do.”
If you are interested in attending future events, you can request to join the UVU American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) club via orgsync.com and contact Dr. Leick, at email@example.com.
