One of our graduates in the Network Planning department at Delta Airlines ATL HQ is looking for an intern this summer. Jordan was an intern two years ago and the position turned full-time shortly after. Completion of Dr. Ryan Leick’s AVSC 3060 Airline Management class is preferred, but Dr. Leick is willing to train anyone in the preferred areas noted below.
Candidates should possess the following:
*Strong analytical skills
*Proficiency with V-Lookups, pivot tables, macros etc.
*General knowledge of how airlines schedule flying (hub and spoke system, bank structure, aircraft utilization, frequency planning, etc.)
*Familiarity with all Delta hubs and most airport codes
*General understanding of how RASM, Load Factor, Profit and Loss affect airlines
*Display a good attitude
*Have a strong desire to learn about this field of work
Programming experience/knowledge will be an advantage, but is not required. Someone who is skilled with logistics/statistics will also be good at this job.
