Whether you are interested in studying locally or online, the Aviation Program at Utah Valley University is designed to help you succeed.  Students can earn a Bachelor of Science Degree with either an emphasis in Aviation Administration or as a Professional Pilot. Associate degree options are also available. Students who are not able to attend UVU in person can complete either degree online, with the flight training portion of the professional pilot degree being completed conveniently at a local airport.

Local Student (Utah Resident)

Local students are separated into two groups. One group physically attends UVU campus and our flight school at the Provo, UT airport. The second group attends classes online and completes flight training at their local airport in Utah.

Local students experience a rich academic environment that is designed to lead them to the preparation required for a successful career in aviation. After you choose the track that is right for you, with the help of an aviation advisor, you will begin your aviation education from experienced full time and part time faculty.

Your flight education will involve the use of cutting edge flight simulators for all aspects of training from initial orientation to crew resource management and jet transport operations. These professional grade devices are similar to those used by airlines and commercial operators worldwide and allow for advanced scenario-based training. Computer assisted classrooms and lab facilities are located on-site, reducing the need for student travel. UVU also maintains a certified FAA knowledge testing center, which provides students with immediate access to a complete range of exams from private pilot to airline transport pilot.

Students that choose the professional pilot degree will work with a certified flight instructor to obtain the flight time and ratings that are required. Ramp personnel assist students in removing aircraft from the hangar and refueling. A dedicated dispatch center assigns and tracks each aircraft to and from locations around the U.S.

Global Student

Students who are not able to attend UVU in person and are not official Utah residents can complete either degree online, with the flight training portion of the professional pilot degree being completed conveniently at a local airport.

The online aviation program seeks to prepare students with interactive, engaged learning experiences through a convenient, cost effective delivery method. Students may select from either a professional pilot emphasis or an aviation administration emphasis. Online students can count on professional support from personnel specializing in admissions, registration, financial aid, and online course support.
