ONLINE AVIATION STUDENT
Follow these steps to begin your accredited aviation degree online.
Get Started Checklist
Download PDF1. Apply to UVU
Submit the online application on www.uvu.edu/admissions and pay the application fee. You will then receive an email confirming your application and providing you with your UV ID number. To complete the application process, submit the following
a. Official transcripts: All transcripts must arrive at UVU in an unopened envelope from the sending institution and must be printed within the last six months to be considered official. Items must be postmarked before the admission deadline.
b. Official ACT or SAT scores: Current ACT or SAT scores are required for all students under age 24, and either ACT/SAT or Accuplacer is required for all students regardless of age. Send official test scores to the Admissions Office. If the ACT or SAT have not been completed or are expired (two years for math and three years for English), placement testing (ACT-R, Accuplacer) is required and can be taken at Testing Services in the Wolverine Service Center. ACT-R testing is offered on a weekly basis by appointment; Accuplacer testing is given daily on a walk-in basis. If you cannot complete the New Student Assessment Test at UVU Campus, you may call the Aviation Student Support Center at 1-888-901-7192 to set up a Compass Test in your area. All testing must be complete before the admissions deadline.
2. Complete Web-Start Pre-Advisement
Go to www.uvu.edu and click on UVLink (in the top left hand corner). The first time you log on to UVLink, your password will be your birthday (mmddyy).
On the "Student" tab under "Getting Started," click "Webstart" and begin the pre-advisement session.
This will take about 20 minutes to complete.

Evaluate prior flight certificates/ratings and previous aviation work experience
Once your application has been processed and your transcripts and test scores have been processed, please contact the Online Aviation Advisor by email at aviationadvisor@uvu.edu. The Advisor will be able to determine what courses can be offered as Experiential Credit and help you determine your remaining courses prior to registration.
4. Register for Classes
After completing the above steps, contact the Aviation Student Support Center at 1-888-901-7192 to get personalized help and be cleared for registration.
5. Apply for Federal Financial Aid
If you need financial aid, you will need to fill out the FAFSA. Email aviationfinaid@uvu.edu or go to http://www.uvu.edu/financialaid/apply/aviation.html for more information.
6. Get Your Books
Click below to find the current list of required textbooks for your online aviation courses. Be sure to select the correct semester. Online students can purchase textbooks from the UVU Bookstore or from whatever provider is most convenient for them. Note: For online aviation courses, be sure to use the book list provided in this step. The "Booklist" on the UVU Bookstore website is for classroom courses only and may differ.Aviation Online Book List
7. Pay Tuition
To access UVU's online payment services, log on to UVLink and locate "Financing and Paying for your Education" under the "Student" tab. Important payment deadlines and purge dates can be found on the student timetable located on www.uvu.edu/schedule .
