MSU TO UVU STUDENT TRANSFER GUIDE
Transfer Credits
How do I send in my transcripts?
At this time, MSU has stated that students interested in transferring to another institution can request official transcripts free of charge. Because of the overwhelming demand for transcripts, MSU is limiting the number of free transcripts to five.
To request an official MSU transcript, complete the transcript request form. We’ve already filled out the UVU address for you. After you fill the form out, make sure you SIGN it. An electronic signature is not acceptable. Submit your completed forms to one of the following MSU fax numbers or email addresses and they’ll send your official transcript to UVU.

Will my credits from MSU be accepted at UVU?
The best way to find out exactly and officially what courses will be accepted toward your UVU degree is to first complete a UVU application and then provide an official transcript from MSU and any other institution you have attended. To complete this step, go to the 3-Step Quickstart UVU has waived the application fee for MSU students and MSU is not charging students for transcripts, so there’s no risk in submitting an application to UVU immediately and getting an official transcript sent as soon as possible.
Transfer courses with grades below "C-" will not be accepted at UVU.
UVU utilizes a transfer articulation database to help students get an idea of previously evaluated courses from MSU and other universities that is updated in real-time. The list however may not be comprehensive. It only shows the courses that have been evaluated previously. You may have additional courses that will be accepted towards your UVU degree. You can visit the UVU Transfer Articulation Database and select Mountain State University to see what courses have been accepted previously by students transferring to UVU.
How many credits do I have to complete at UVU?
At least 30 credit hours in residence at UVU are required for a bachelor’s degree. Two year degrees require at least 20 hours at UVU.
Can I receive additional credit for my flight certificates and ratings?
Yes, new students may receive experiential credit for pilot certificates, previous training, life or work experience obtained prior to beginning our degree program, provided it is approved by a senior advisor.
In order to receive experiential credit for pilot certificates & ratings, as long as we can verify them on the FAA's Airmen Registry, no copies will be necessary. The price for experiential credit is $15.00 per course plus $5.00 per credit. For example, a three credit hour course would have an experiential credit fee as follows:
| 1 course @ $15.00 | 15.00 |
| 3 credits @ $5.00/credit | 15.00 |
| Total experiential credit fee for a 3 credit course | $30.00 |
