Regional Accreditation
Pilots who are interested in advancing their aviation career know
how important it is to have an accredited degree. Utah Valley
University is Accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges
and Universities (NWCCU). NWCCU is part of a consortium of regional
accrediting agencies. Regional accreditation is regarded as the
highest form of accreditation for employment purposes. We accept
transfer credit from all schools that are regionally accredited
and other colleges will accept our transfer credit. The six regional
accreditation boards listed are equal in each other's eyes and
the eyes of academics for the purpose of transferring credits
or degrees from one college to another. Some institutions do not have this type of regional accreditation and
we cannot accept credit from them.

Why Accreditation Matters
There are schools out there that have caught the vision of aviation
online learning, but the problem is, they are not regionally accredited.
They claim they are accredited, but they are not
regionally
accredited. When students get their education through
such schools, they are wasting time and money. Sadly, we have
seen students who want to transfer over Bachelor Degrees to our
program. We cannot accept any of the credits unless they are regionally
accredited. Not only does that sort of education prevent them
from transferring credits if they want to obtain additional degrees,
but it also prevents an employer from hiring them. After all,
most serious companies want employees who have legitimate, serious
degrees. The employment industry is well aware of quality degree
programs. When people ask if you have attended an accredited university
in the United States, they most commonly mean a regionally accredited
university.
