At UVU Aviation Science we have developed and refined one of the best and most affordable (see tuition & fees) aviation training programs available. Our program offers an alternative route, allowing students seeking careers in aviation to complete a Professional Pilot or Aviation Administration degree online. With the flexibility of online learning, students are able to maintain a job and fulfill family responsibilities. Online learning is convenient for your lifestyle and your goals.
Those students pursuing a career as a Commercial Pilot would be most interested in the Professional Pilot degree emphasis.
Students across the country have the option of training at their local flight school or at UVU. Courses are available year-round, making our program the perfect choice for students desiring to fly. Students can obtain additional advanced ratings and deepen their knowledge of the pilot profession through an impressive range of course subject matter.
Students seeking aviation careers at a managerial level, or who wish to pursue helicopter or other non-fixed-wing flight training are best suited for our Aviation Administration degree emphasis.
Graduates will have a combination of aviation industry knowledge as well as general business management skills. This degree leads to a wide variety in employment areas within aviation and is a useful bridge into a graduate degree program.
The School of Aviation Science is educating nearly 2,000 students worldwide through innovative online education. Along with the faculty, full-time and part-time staff work together to develop and deliver outstanding education opportunities that are built with the student in mind.
In May 2011, Aviation Science was selected as a semifinalist by the Adobe Design Achievement Awards in the category of Innovation in Interactive Media in Education.
Students may select from either the professional pilot or aviation administration emphasis and can count on professional support from personnel specializing in admissions, registration, financial aid, and online course support. Each course is carefully designed with selected readings, quizzes, assignments, forums, activities and more to meet the educational objective.

UVU is an open-admission university, meaning no student is denied admission. The University does, however, have enrollment standards. In order to help students enroll in courses that match their academic preparation and ability, admission to the University requires that every student submit ACT/SAT scores; an official high school transcript; and a $35 application fee.
To get started, apply for admission at the UVU Admissions page. After you're admitted, the steps are different depending on if you are local student attending on-campus classes or an online student. Click here to see these steps for an online student.
