Kimball T. Harper

The Kimball T. Harper Botany Endowment sponsors this scholarship and supports students majoring in botany at UVU.

Dr. Harper was a renowned plant ecologist that dedicated his life's work to the education and quality field experiences of students interested in the natural world, particularly the vegetation of the Intermountain West. He joyously believed in the principle,

"In the end, we conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand." –Baba Dioum

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Students must be currently enrolled as a botany major in good standing at UVU.
  • Students must be within 1 semester of beginning their junior year.

  • Students must have recommendations from two UVU botany/biology faculty.
