New Student Assessment Testing (A.K.A )
"The ACCUPLACER"
Testing You for Reading, Writing and Math Placement
The ACCUPLACER is required for all first-time students who do not have current ACT/SAT scores or who have not met the ACT/SAT requirement.
This assessment is a reading, writing, and math placement test. It is part of the Personal Educational Planning services.
All students are required to show a picture ID prior to testing. The testing location is the Wolverine Service Center, 1165 W. 800 S., just north of the main campus.
UVU Students ONLY
The ACCUPLACER is given on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday during office hours, with the last test given out 2 hours prior to closing.
The test is free for newly admitted students testing for the first time.
Non-UVU Students
The ACCUPLACER is offered by APPOINTMENT only. Please contact our Proctor Exam Center at (801)863-8544 to set an appointment.
Appointments must be set at least 24 hours in advance. The ACCUPLACER costs $50.00 for non-UVU students.
Out-of-State Students
If you are unable to take the Accuplacer test at UVU, arrangements can be made to take the test online from remote locations. Please contact Testing Services at 801 863-6421 for further information. You may also FAX official scores to Testing Services at 801 863-7076 from other academic institutions.
Retesting
Students are allowed to retest once per term for any section of the ACCUPLACER test. Retakes cost $10 per section after waiting (5) business days from initial testing.
The test can also be taken once at the end of each term.
Pre-Test Review
It is recommended that you prepare ahead of time for your testing experience by taking advantage of some excellent review and preparation resources for the ACCUPLACER test.
