Welcome

Thank you for visiting Community College Programs.  If you are looking for information on associate degrees or certificate programs, you've come to the right place.

Community College Programs consists of the following three academic divisions:

1

Career and Technical Education programs at UVU are designed to prepare students for employment in high-demand and higher-paying career fields. The entry point into a high-paying job can happen with just an Associate of Science, an Associate of Applied Science, Diploma or Certificate in any of the approved Career & Technical Education programs

Career and Technical Education coordinates and promotes initiatives to develop more fully the academic, career and technical skills of secondary education students. Additional initiatives support the transition of post-secondary education students who elect to enroll in career and technical education programs and efforts for strategic workforce development.

Career and Technical Education at UVU will support and provide opportunities for students to acquire and use high-quality technical and career skills through focused, engaged learning to prepare them for meaningful employment in a competitive global workforce.

2

Concurrent Enrollment is a Utah Valley University–High School partnership program, where qualified secondary students can earn college credit. College classes are taught at local high schools by UVU-approved high school instructors using UVU curricula.

High school students can also participate in Concurrent Enrollment through live interactive courses. These are taught by UVU professors and broadcast in real-time to high school classrooms.

The UVU Concurrent Enrollment program is the ideal way to provide high school students with access to the higher education experience. Program Requirements include being a High School Junior or Senior, having a 3.0 GPA for academic courses and a 2.0 GPA for any CTE courses.

The Office of Extended Studies directs, coordinates, and enhances the educational opportunities for students at non-traditional times and locations.  Presently we are coordinating/facilitating the following classes and programs:

  • UVU North @ Westlake High School
  • UVU Courses @ MATC - Thanksgiving Point
  • UVU South @ Spanish Fork High School
  • UVU West @ National Guard Building
  • Weekend College
  • Wasatch Campus in Heber City, UT

We strive to continually improve educational opportunities and services to meet student needs by initiating new programs, providing student and faculty services, and initiating opportunities for flexible learning experiences.

The Office of Extended Studies works closely with Academic Departments in scheduling classes at these locations.  General Education courses are offered as well as some upper division courses in Business, Family Studies, and Behavioral Science at the off-campus locations.  The Weekend College Program through Extended Studies has partnered with several Academic Departments on campus to facilitate Associate and Bachelor Degrees that are available by taking classes in the evenings, weekends, and through Distance Education.
