These figures speak for themselves
32 students so far have enrolled in the Chinese Studies Minor at UVU, as of 4/20/2013, a huge success for Chinese Studies in its first year. This figure is more than 3 times higher than prospected in the R401 for the Minor.
20 students are enrolled in Chinese Studies courses at UVU for Fall 2013 already, as of 4/20/2013 (this figure does not include the language courses, which are also required for the Chinese Studies students).
100 students each year enroll in Chinese 1010 courses. These credits can be used towards a Chinese Studies Minor. A big portion of these students do at least 1020 and 2010, fulfilling the Chinese Studies Minor requirements. A smaller portion of the students do 2 more language courses. These can be used as elective credits for the Chinese Studies Minor. And we have students who fulfill all language course requirements even for a Chinese Language Minor!
These figures are a tremendous success, since the Chinese Studies Minor only started in Fall 2012. The figures are the result of outstanding marketing efforts by UVU Marketing Services, the Chinese Studies faculty and student assistants, and cooperating peers and programs (Languages, Business Management, Integrated Studies). Thank all of you for your support! These numbers are your success!
Now let's retain and let's all help the students to build their global resume with Chinese Studies at UVU!
