Modern Chinese History CHST 363G (in Fall 2013 double booked with HIST 420R)

The course is open for everybody and is taught in English.

Provides a broad overview on Chinese Civilization from the last Imperial Dynasty (Qing) until the present day. Students can play the Last Emperor, Mao Zedong or Deng Xiaoping and describe the respective contribution to Chinese history. Students will learn about the Empire, the Republic, the People’s Republic today etc.
