Modern Chinese Literature CHST 375G (Fall 2013: CHST375G=ENGL373R TR 11:30-12:45)
The course is open for everybody and is taught in English.
Introduces masterpieces of modern and contemporary Chinese literature (1644 CE till today) within the historical, cultural, thematic, and aesthetic context. We read in English translation Chinese short stories, poem, excerpts from novels. Students choose an author to identify with, present him or her in a roleplay, report his/her personal view on his/her own works and his/her place in history. (CHST CRN 23348)
