Program Mission

The Cinema Studies minor and Integrated Studies emphasis focuses on films as cultural texts and is designed to provide students with an understanding of the social, political, historical, and industrial contexts that produce them. As an interdisciplinary program, cinema studies draws on faculty expertise from various disciplines and includes global and historical perspectives.

The Cinema Studies program fosters interdisciplinary study within the college community and provides curriculum for students who are interested in career paths that require a sophisticated understanding of media culture, such as:
