Q. What does the club office do?
A. The clubs office consists of the inter-club council (ICC), which is the vice president of clubs and four ambassadors. Each of the ambassadors is over categories of particular clubs. ICC exists to help clubs become long lasting and successful clubs. We help clubs navigate through the campus in a variety of capacities.
Q. How do I start a club?
A. Fill out a charter from you can either pick up one in the office LC101a or print one on-line under the forms tab. You must have a full-time faculty or staff member over the club and a minimum of six members. The president of the club must be a full-time student. Non-UVU students or individuals not in school can be club members too. Don't forget to attach your constitution and bylaws all other requirements are listed on the back of the form. After it's completed return it to the club office and await approval.
Q. How do I join a club?
A. Club contract information can be found on our website or come into the office and pick up a printed list. Each club does its membership on its own. Clubs are required to charge dues of minimum of $5.00.
Q. Where do the club dues go?
A. Club dues go into the club account for the club to use as is needed. Many clubs will do socials or refreshments, or equipment.
Q. Does the school give the clubs money?
A. Clubs are given up to $250 for just becoming a club, but they must turn in their paperwork on time. Deadlines for charter forms can be found on the club calendar. Also, the clubs office provides opportunities for clubs to earn money such as participating in club rush.
Q. Can clubs fundraise?
A. Clubs are allowed to fundraise as much as they would like, and all funds earned must be deposited into the club account. Fundraisers and any other club event require prior approval. Instructions on fundraising and appropriate can be found in the club manual.
