The UV Mentor Program, part of the Department of Student Leadership and Success Studies and University College at Utah Valley University, is pleased to host its 2nd Annual Student Leadership and Mentoring, Mar. 21-22, 2014. The Conference will be on Friday and the run on Saturday morning.
The purpose of The Student Leadership and Mentoring Conference is to give students and professionals the opportunity to network and share their leadership and/or mentoring experiences with each other. This student run conference gives students and professionals the opportunity to network and share their knowledge with each other as it relates to leadership and mentoring.
Student or professionals who are interested in presenting at this conference should submit a 300-word proposal no later than Monday February 17, 2014 (example proposal) . Proposals are currently being accepted.
The proposal should include:
- Title of Presentation
- Full name
- Current Position (i.e., student, staff, administrator, etc.)
- Institution Affiliated (where you attend/work)
- Contact Information
- 3 Keywords that best describe the subject of your submission
Possible presentation topics could include but not limited to:
- Leadership Training
- Time Management
- Personal Development
- Peer Mentoring
- Conflict Resolution
- Goal Setting
- Team Building
- Social Justice
- Student Leadership Development
Join us March 22, 2014 for The LUCK OF THE IRISH 5K Fun Run. Get your GREEN ON and join us from 8am-12pm at UVU’s Intramural Fields west of Geneva Rd on Orem Center St. There will be music, prizes for the best costume, t-shirts for the first 50 runners and a breakfast to follow the race. Join us as we race to the pot of gold and wrap up the 2nd Annual SLAM Conference. For more information on the 5K see tab on the left side of this page.
Abstract proposal: no later than Monday, February 17, 2014 (Decisions about acceptance will be made as proposals are submitted and no later than Monday, February 24, 2014)
Registration: Fees paid before March 3, 2014 will receive the discounted rate
The registration fee covers access to all sessions of the conference, conference materials, meals (if desired),and refreshments during breaks. If traveling from outside of Utah or for those who wish to spend the night, special arrangements have been made with a local hotel for a limited number of rooms at a reduced rate.
Cancellations made up to 5 days before the event will receive a 75% refund of the registration fees. Cancellations made less than 5 days before the event are not eligible for a refund.
