Marie Clegg-Jones Speech Competition: The Marie Clegg-Jones Speech Competition is an annual spring event designed to showcase
public speaking skills outside of the classroom. Students who enter are required to
give a 5-7 minute speech to a panel of judges. The first prize is a $500 award, while
second and third place awardees receive $250 and $150, respectively. If interested,
please contact Dr. Janet Colvin with your name, UVUID and phone number.
Bateman Case Study Competition: As described the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), the Bateman
Case Study competition is the “premier national case study competition for public
relations students, and gives you an opportunity to apply your classroom education
and internship experiences to create and implement a full public relations campaign.”
Our PRSSA chapter continues to be nationally recognized at the annual event. To learn
