Janet Colvin has worked in the field of communications for the last fifteen years. She is fascinated by the different factors that affect the world of communication and all that influences our ability to communicate in the world around us.
Dr. Colvin is an associate professor and Department Chair at Utah Valley University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from Brigham Young University. She received her Masters degree and Ph.D. from the University of Utah. Though communication can be used in many different ways, the areas that most interest her are organizational, group, interpersonal, and instructional communication.
She has published a book, journal articles and book chapters, as well as participating in regional and national and international conferences. She has devoted a significant amount of research time to studying the relationships between peer tutors and/or peer mentors, students, and instructors.
