With over 15 years of extensive domestic and international public relations experience, Stephen L. Whyte has worked in Washington, D.C., New York City and around the world with companies such as 3Com, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Singer Sewing Machines and Little Giant Ladders. Stephen’s expertise ranges from working with the top-tier TV and print media in New York City to counseling CEOs in strategic communication activities to cultivating relationships with Members of Congress.
As a nationally recognized PR thought leader and strategist, Stephen enjoys helping
UVU students prepare for success in the workplace through his role as Assistant Professor
and PR Program Coordinator in UVU’s Communication Department.
In addition to Stephen’s exceptional teaching in the classroom, he has taken PR students on engaged learning trips throughout the nation to meet with his professional colleagues in New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., Orlando, Seattle, Chicago and Los Angeles. He was recognized as the 2012 National Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Outstanding Faculty Adviser in the nation. Under his mentored leadership, the UVU PRSSA Chapter was recognized as the 2013 Outstanding Chapter in the Nation out of 330+ universities. In 2013, UVU President Matthew Holland presented Stephen with UVU’s Presidential Award of Excellence for Engagement.
He and his wife, Roxane, and their five children enjoy traveling, skiing, and eating sugar cookie dough together.
