RICHTER7
PR STUDENT OF THE YEAR AWARD

Richter7, a Salt Lake City‑based public relations and advertising
agency, has established the Richter7 Public Relations Student of the
Year Award to recognize excellence in communications among college
students in Utah. One student each year will receive a $1,000 award to
supplement undergraduate study at an accredited four‑year college or
university to encourage careers in public relations.

Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age,
gender, disability, or national origin.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants for the Richter7 Public Relations Student of the Year Award
must:

*    Complete the junior‑level of their major's coursework by
Winter/Spring Semester of 2010.
*    Be part‑ or full‑time students at an accredited four‑year
college or university in Utah.
*    Show exceptional ability in public relations through coursework,
internships or extracurricular activities.
*    Plan to graduate with one of the following majors:

    *    Public Relations
    *    Marketing
    *    Communication
    *    Or have comparable experience and classroom work
    *    Be pursuing a career in public relations or communication.

 AWARD

The highest merited applicant will receive a one‑time $1,000 cash award
to cover education expenses. Awards are for undergraduate study only.
The award recipient will be known as the Richter7 Public Relations
Student of the Year.
 

APPLICATION

Interested students must complete the application and mail it to
Richter7 postmarked no later than April 10, 2010.

Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary
information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied;
therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete
applications will not be evaluated. All information received is
considered confidential and is reviewed only by the Richter7 Selection
Committee.
 

SELECTION PROCESS

Finalists are selected on the basis of academic record, academic and
professional experience and aptitude for success in the public relations
field. Financial need is not considered. Finalists will be notified by
Tuesday, April 13, 2010, and invited for a personal interview and
presentation Friday, April 23, 2010. Richter7 will provide finalists the
necessary information to prepare for the presentation. The finalist
chosen as the Richter7 Public Relations Student of the Year will be
notified by Monday, April 26, 2010.


PAYMENT OF AWARD

Richter7 will present a one‑time $1,000 check to the recipient.

 
ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Names and addresses of all applicants will be forwarded to Richter7
Human Resources so students may be informed of internship and/or career
opportunities. Neither applicants nor recipients have any obligation to
Richter7. Additional opportunities are voluntary.


REVISIONS

Richter7 reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of
this award program and to make changes at any time including termination
of the program or any award.
