Directions to the Field Station
These directions will take you to the park Visitor Center where you should check in with park personnel and review road conditions to the field station.
If the visitor center is closed, take the scenic drive south from the Visitor Center about 10 miles to the field station. At the junction between the Capitol Gorge and Pleasant Creek roads, take the Pleasant Creek road, which may become impassable during certain weather conditions.
Traveling westbound on Interstate 70
- Exit (149) west on UT HWY 24 towards Hanksville.
- Continue on Highway 24 for 95 miles to the park Visitor Center.
Traveling southbound on Interstate 15
- Exit (188) east at Scipio.
- Continue on US HWY 50 towards Salina for 30 miles.
- At the junction with UT HWY89/259, turn right (south)
- Continue 8 miles.
- Turn left (east) onto UT HWY 24 towards Sigurd.
- Continue on HWY 24 for 82 miles to reach the park Visitor Center.
Traveling northbound on Interstate 15
Option 1:
- From I-15 take exit 132 (I-70) to Richfield.
- Continue east on I-70 about 40 miles
- Exit (40) at Richfield, and turn right onto Main Street (UT HWY 120).
- Continue south 1.2 miles, and turn left on E 300 Street (Glenwood Road, HWY 119), and continue east 9.6 miles to the HWY 24 junction.
- Turn right onto HWY 24
- Continue south 64 miles to reach the park Visitor Center.
Option 2:
For a scenic alternative, exit (95) on HWY 20 (just north of Beaver), and make your way via HWY 20, 89, and 62 to Koosharem; then follow HWY 24 to the Visitor Center.
