UV JOB BOARD
The UV Job Board is the place to begin your search for a student to fill your job and internship needs. When you post on the UV Job Board, you create the catalyst for many services we offer, including:
- Job & Internship notices are emailed directly to students in the appropriate majors
- Most postings will appear in "Hot Jobs & Internships" on our website homepage
- Many quality positions are highlighted on our plasma screens
- Hardcopy is posted in displays around the campus
INTERNSHIPS
This is a great way to fulfill those needs you currently have, while getting to know and training a potential permanent employee for the future. You benefit by obtaining a year-round source of highly motivated pre-professionals. This is an excellent way to draw from the "cream of the crop" early in the recruitment cycle. Other benefits might include:
- Flexibe, cost effective work force without a long-term commitment
- Free up more time for professional staff to pursue more creative projects
- Establish a long-tem, working relationship with Utah Valley University
BECOMING A MENTOR
Many individuals who have found success in their fields are willing to help someone else pursue similar goals. If you are one of these individuals, your guidance can prove invaluable to an up-and-coming student. Mentors report that often this experience is as valuable to the mentor as it is to the student.
JOB SHADOWING
If you would like to help or you have a short-term project you would like completed, you might find Job Shadowing to be a good way to go. A student could visit your organization to observe the "real thing" in action for a few hours to a few weeks. This opportunity can greatly enhance our students' ability to determine what aspects of a specific career choice are the best fit for them. Based upon the actual experience, it can also provide a student with a quality starting point for resumes and interviews.
STUDENTS WITH disABILITIES
Many of our students with disABILITIES provide a wealth of experience, abilities and traits to provide you with a quality employee. "Projects with Industry" works to aid UVU students and alumni with disABILITIES to achieve their chosen career goals.
