Early Care and Education<< BACK TO ALL PROGRAMS
The Early Care and Education program is strongly aligned with community needs and provides instruction and preparation for those seeking to work with young children in preschool and day care facilities. The Early Care and Education program aligns with the five standards outlined by the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for preparing early childhood professionals: 1) Promoting child development and learning, 2) Building family and community relationships, 3) Observing, documenting, and assessing to support young children and families, 4) Teaching and learning using developmentally effective approaches, and 5) Becoming a professional. The program provides a stong experiential experience through course work, observations, and multiple opportunities to work with young children in closely supervised settings in partnership with preschools and community child care centers. |
