Collision Repair Technology<< BACK TO ALL PROGRAMS
Collision Repair workers repair and refinish damaged vehicles. They may be employed as estimators, shop managers, prep persons, refinisher, panel straighteners, panel and trim replacers, frame straighteners, and glass replacers. Estimators and managers are responsible for estimating repair costs, using salesmanship in getting work, and keeping up production schedules. They also check on quality control. Prep persons sand, mask, and prepare surfaces for topcoat application by the refinisher. Straightening of panels, unibodies, and frame areas is performed by skilled collision repair persons. Glass replacement is performed by glass specialists or combination collision repairers. Four options are available: a One-Year Certificate, a diploma, the Associate in Applied Science, and the Bachelor of Science in Technology Management.
