Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked questions

Q: I got a call and wasn't sure it was really UVU calling. How do I know for sure
it's you?

A: We will always introduce ourselves as calling on behalf of Utah Valley University as a current student. You are welcome to ask us questions about current happenings here on campus. Also, if you have a caller ID we will show up as (801) 863-8000, which is the primary number for the University. If you are ever uncertain, please do not hesitate to contact our director of annual giving, Justin Ferrell, at (801) 863-7575.

Q: Who are we?

A: We are all current students at Utah Valley University. You can read more about us here.

Q: Why are we calling?

A: We call for a few different reasons. The most important is to make sure that all of our alumni feel connected to the University, no matter how long or short a time they may have been gone. We are also calling to update you on the amazing growth and opportunities we are seeing as an institution of higher learning and to give you the wonderful opportunity to be a part of these experiences.

Q: Who do we call?

A: We do our best to contact anyone who has a connection to Utah Valley University.  This includes those who graduated with a degree or certificate at any time in the past, parents of our current students, and anyone who attended our University for at least one semester.

Q: When do we call?

A: We do our best to call you at a time that is convenient for you. This means that most of our calling happens in the evenings, between 5 and 9 p.m. MT, Monday-Friday.  There are times when we may contact you at a time that is not the best for you, and we do apologize for this; just let us know when we speak to you on the phone and we will make arrangements to call at a better time.

Q: Why haven't I been called?

A: Chances are you will get a call from us sooner or later. It is possible, however, that we do not have your current contact information on file. You can update us through the Alumni Association by visiting uvualumni.org.

Q: I made a pledge. Now what?

A: If you paid by credit card over the phone, you are done! You will receive your receipt in seven to 10 business days. If you requested a pledge card, you are welcome to fulfill your pledge online with a debit or credit card by clicking here. Or you will receive your pledge card in the mail in the next business week, which you are welcome to return with a check.

Q: I have more questions, or my questions weren't answered here. Whom should
I contact?

A: You are welcome to contact Justin Ferrell, our director of annual giving, at (801) 863-7575 or justin.ferrell@uvu.edu.
