Biography - Associate Director Development Services - Prospect Research

Before joining UVU, Julie Shumway was the assistant director of prospect research at her alma mater, Utah State University, where she directed the prospect research team and was instrumental in the design and implementation of the university-wide project management system. Julie also held positions as assistant to the dean in the College of Science and assisted in the college’s fundraising efforts as a development assistant.

Julie joins UVU as the associate director of development services overseeing the prospect research department. She brings nine years of experience in fundraising, primarily in prospect research. She is also the chapter president for the Association of Prospect Researchers in Advancement (Apra-UT)

Julie holds a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in science. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Kelly, and their three children and two grandchildren. She enjoys music, theater, and working out at the gym.
