Creating New Partnerships
Written by: Brenda JohnsonClyde Companies, Inc, of Orem, Utah, announced a $1 million donation to UVU in fall 2007, and with it, the development of the Clyde Institute of Construction Management at UVU. The donation was made as part of the ongoing Fulton Challenge and was matched dollar for dollar by Ira and Mary Lou Fulton.
With the new Clyde Institute of Construction Management, UVU will be the only college in the region that specialized in heavy civil construction—the construction of roads, dams, bridges, pipe lines and the like. Utah is currently investing billions of dollars into building highways and other infrastructure in our communities, creating many employment opportunities for graduates of the Institute.
The Clyde family has long been associated with UVU. Wilford Clyde, CEO of Clyde Companies, is a former chair of the UVUBoard of Trustees.
“Our company and its owners support UVU and want it to be successful,” says Wilford.
