Continuing Education
Business & Industry Training Fund
  • Fund applications should be submitted by a business including but not limited to a sole proprietor, partnership, or a corporation.
  • Applicants should submit a one-page letter detailing why the training is needed and the names of those who will be trained.
  • Applicants must detail the Community and Continuing Education courses they desire for their staff including: course name, course cost, and how the course will fulfill needed job skills.
  • Priority consideration will be given to training that contributes to economic development through saving jobs, salary increases, or increased business. Qualifications for funds will be measured by gross revenue increase and total number of employees affected.
  • Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the UVU Community and Continuing Education Scholarship Committee.
  • Funds awarded will be up to 50% of the cost of the training. The business is required to pay 50% of the cost of the training. Funds will pay for courses. No checks will be mailed to fund recipients.
  • Applicants must provide a document copy to prove their legal residence in the United States.
  • Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Mail application letter to: UVU, Attention: Diana Hunter, Business and Industry Training Fund, MS-147, Orem, Utah, 85058-5999.
  • If applicant receives an award from the Business and Industry Training Fund, prior to the first training a contract must be signed and registration information must be submitted on each trainee.
  • Fund donors and their companies are automatically excluded from receiving money from the Business and Industry Training Fund. This is to prevent a double dip of donations to receive tax credit and then benefit from Fund.

  • $500 to $1,000 award will be given to award recipients. The award can only be used as a stipend to enable a student to take advantage of several internship opportunities, which are most often unpaid.
  • A student can only qualify for application toward this fund after an internship has been secured.
  • Recipients must be majoring in Photography and preference will be given to female students.
  • Recipients must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and if award is used the semester they are in their internship, the student must be enrolled at minimum as a part-time student.

Information Systems & Technology Annual Scholarship
  • Recipient must be a full-time student with junior standing currently enrolled in the B.S. in Information Systems program and/ or B.S. in Information Technology program.
  • Recipient must be in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to students who have at least a 3.5 GPA in core and elective credits.
  • Scholarship monies are to be used to help recipient pay for tuition, course and lab fees, and books.
  • Final selection of recipient will be determined by Information Systems and Technology Scholarship Committee chaired by the IS&T Department Chair.
  • If there are not a sufficient number of applications, the Department prefers the funds not be dispersed rather than awarded to applicants who do not meet the criterion.

UVU Ambassador Endowed Scholarship Fund
  • Annual Scholarships will be awarded in the name of each of the past chairs of the Foundation, at present there are ten past chairs.
  • At such time the Foundation has sufficient resources to increase this fund current and future chairs of the Foundation may be recognized through this scholarship.
  • Recipients will be selected through a strict application process using criteria that befits the title of a foundation ambassador and reflects the high characteristics the awardees name.

  • Priority will be given to non-traditional students, which includes single parents and displaced homemakers (both male and female).

  • Recipient must be a student from Mongolia attending Utah Valley University.
  • If Mongolian students are not able to enter the USA, the scholarship will be awarded to an eligible student in the Art Program.

    • Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student in the Electrical Automation and Robotics Technology Program at UVU.

    • First priority for students in the UVU Collision Repair Technology Program or the Street Rod Program, then to students enrolled in the Automotive Technology Department.

  • The internship must involve substantive and supervised work related to the applicant’s academic major, area of concentration or liberal arts experience.
