About Robert Trim
Robert spent more than 20 years in various aspects of the TV and Film industry. Some before he served in the US Air Force working with the SR-71 and U-2 spy planes and the rest after completing his BA in Communications at BYU. A few years later, Robert completed is MBA at the Univ. of Phoenix.
Robert freelanced for ESPN, NBC and TVS sports productions for several years. Worked on early feature films in Utah for local producers and a mini series for German national television, and later, moving full time into broadcasting as the Creative Commercial Director for KTSU TV. Then hired away by advertising agencies to produce TV and radio advertising for a wide variety of clients including Kentucky Fired Chicken's western region, very large auto dealerships and western regional retail clothing chains.
Hired back in the broadcasting industry, Robert was the producer for an investigative news program, winning 11 Regional News Emmys in 8 years. These added to his 4 advertising awards and national award for radio commercials.
Robert left the daily grind of television to return to what he always said was his ultimate goal... teach in higher ed. Salt Lake Community College hired Robert run their Media Production Department for 15 years and teach non-linear editing within the Art and Design Department.
Ironically, he was hired into the rapidly growing Multimedia Communications Technology dept. (now DGM) at UVU to teach cinematography out of the same studio he designed some 30 years prior when under contract to then Utah Valley Tech, to produce 120 video packages in support of trades programs.
Robert is still very active in the film industry as a board member for the Motion Picture Association of Utah mentoring student internships on features and maintaining professional contacts on film sets.
