The School of Education at Utah Valley University has grown from 30 students in early childhood and elementary education in 1996 to nearly 900 students in early childhood, elementary education, secondary education, and graduate education.
The performance of UVU students after graduation has received positive feedback from district teachers and administrators across the state of Utah and across the nation. UVU teacher candidates are heavily recruited by service area districts and many receive contracts before graduation has even been completed!
The UVU teacher education program received national accreditation from the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) and Council for Accreditation of Educational Programs in the spring 2013.
The UVU School of Education began the first master's degree at UVU in August of 2008. Students enrolled in the Master of Education degree program can focus their studies in an area of interest to them, including options in Teacher Leadership, English as a Second Language, Elementary Mathematics, Educational Technology, Gifted and Talented Education, and Reading.
