School experiences

Visit and interact with students in schools on Tongatapu and in Hamilton. All teaching is in English.

Accommodations

Main island housing is dorm-style, 4-6 to an apartment.

Physical Requirements

Significant daily walking to and from schools and cultural and historical sites.*

Tentative Agenda

Spend 5-8 days visiting and working in schools. Other days will be flexible with sightseeing and other activities. Planned activities in Tonga include Captain Cook’s landing place, the Tongan triathlon, the blowholes, and sightseeing. New Zealand sites will include Waitomo Glowworm Caves and Hobbiton.

Additional Info

During Fall 2020, Tonga was also a destination for student teaching.
