Expanding Your Horizons (EYH)

Open to all 6th - 12th Grade Girls! 

Utah Valley University is pleased to announce the 26th Annual Expanding Your Horizons conference! This conference is being held on Saturday, March 3rd, 2012, from 7:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the UVU Sorensen Student Center. This is a math, science, and technology focused career conference for 6th through 12th grade girls from Utah and surrounding states. Each year over 700 girls, parents, and educators come to explore educational and career opportunities in a variety of high-paying career fields; all presented by professional women!

Girls will be able to attend three hands-on workshops; choosing from over 40 different career fields that include Astronomy, Dentistry, Forensic Science, Medicine, Rocket & Space Science, Veterinary Medicine and many more. Parents and educators are also encouraged to attend and enjoy specialized workshops that will give resources on how to help girls succeed in their educational, career and life pursuits. EYH also features an energizing keynote speaker, interactive booths, commemorative t-shirt, snack, lunch, and a packet of related materials.  

Scholarships will be available for girls from low-income families to attend EYH at little or no cost. Additionally, one parent or educator may attend free of charge for each 5 girls they bring to the conference. Please contact the Equity Center for more information before registering.  

The UVU Equity In Education Center is pleased to partner with Salt Lake Community College, who will handle registration for EYH.  

Registration is now closed; however, you can still register for the conference on-site between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. in the UVU Student Center Grande Ballroom commons area on Saturday, March 3rd. The registration fee for on-site registration is $30.00 per person.
