The Democracy House Project

The Democracy House Project (DHP) is an educational initiative that endeavors to teach political literacy to individuals, community groups, and businesses in order to recreate and rejuvenate democracy and citizenship one person, one household, and one community at a time. DHP believes that no one can be called free without his or her participation in political processes and sharing in public power through meaningful engagement as a citizen. Such public engagement; however, to be significant and successful requires political literacy. The main mission of Democracy House Project is threefold: to teach political literacy; to seek to create venues for citizen engagement; and to host public dialogues of significant public policy issues.

The Utah Democracy Project, in association with the Democracy House Project, will be seeking opportunities, over the span of the federal grant, to teach political literacy in as many venues and to as many citizens as possible.
