As we receive questions from students, we will post them here with answers.  If you have questions, email them to extend@uvu.edu

How do I register for classes at an off-campus location or on the weekend?
Students register for all classes at Utah Valley University through UVLink or by visiting One Stop.  First time students must complete the Admissions process, Webstart Pre-Advisement course, and then meet with an Academic Advisor prior to registering for courses.  Classes taught off-campus and for Weekend College are assigned a specific section according to where the class is held:
  • UVU North is designated with "N".  Those with N61 or N62 are classes located @ Lehi, N71 or NV7 are classes located @ Westlake.  NA1 sections are skiing and snowboarding classes taught at the Sundance Ski Resort
  • UVU South @ Spanish Fork is designated with "S" (S61, SV6, ...)
  • Wasatch Campus is designed with "R" (R01, R61, RV6, ...)
  • UVU West @ National Guard Building is designed with "U" (U01, U61, UV6, ...)
  • Weekend College is designated with "W" (W01, W61, ...)
    • Classes that contain "0" like R01 are classes held during the day with start times before 5:00 pm
    • Classes that contain "6" like U61 are classes held during the evening with start times after 5:00 pm
    • Classes that contain "V" like NV7 are classes that are delivered via Interactive Video to the site through Distance Education

Where do I find the classes scheduled at an off-campus location or on the Weekends?
Extended Studies post a list of classes for each of their sites on their web page at uvu.edu/extend.  Click on Courses and a drop-down menu will appear for each site.  A pdf. is available for the semester that students can currently register for.  You can also view courses in Banner.  Refer above to the section designations for each site.  You can also click on Site and bring up classes held at a specific location.  Live Interactive Video courses are listed separately.
  • Did you know?   When looking for classes in Banner, you can view all the classes at a specific time, day, or location by simply clicking on Accounting (ACC), scroll down to Zoology (ZOOL), hold your Shift Key and Click.  This highlights all the subjects.  Then you can choose by site, instructor, day or evenings, hour, and day.
Be sure to be logged into UVLink before trying to register for classes.  You will need the CRN # for the course.

Is the tuition different for classes held off-campus or on Weekends?
Tuition is based on the # of credit hours you register for.  It is the same for most undergraduate students no matter where you take classes (resident and non-resident status does apply).  Student fees are charged by the # of credits hours for classes held on campus, Wasatch Campus, UVU West @ National Guard Building, and Weekend College.  Student fees are not charged for classes held at an off-campus location (UVU North & UVU South); however, a $52 course fee is charged.

  • Resident student taking 6 credits at UVU North @ Lehi for example:
    • Tuition for 6 credits ($984.00) + Course Fee for 6 credits ($104.00) = $1088.00

  • Same student taking 3 credits at UVU North and 3 credits on campus or at UVU West for example:
    • Tuition for 6 credits ($984.00) + Student Fees for 3 credits ($140.00) + Course Fee for 3 credits ($52.00) = $1176.00

Are there computers available off-campus or on Weekends?
UVU West @ the National Guard Building and the Wasatch Campus have a student computer lab available at their site with 20+ computers available.  Print credit is available just as it is for students on campus.  The facilitators at the other sites (Lehi, Westlake, and Spanish Fork) have a computer available in their office area and can be used by students in emergency situations.  Wireless access is available at Lehi Jr High and Westlake High School.  Check with the facilitator for access information.  The Computer Loft in the Student Center - SC 215 and the Info Commons in the Library - LI 100 is available on Saturdays (8:00 am - 5:00 pm) for Weekend students.

Can students make copies off-campus and on Weekends?
UVU West @ the National Guard Building and the Wasatch Campus has a coin operated copier available to students.  There is a coin operated copier in the Student Center across from the Bookstore and there are 2 copy centers on campus.  GT 516d and SC 101g.  These copy centers are only available Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.  We cannot make student copies at the off-campus locations.

What if I left something in the classroom, where do I go to find it?
Check with the facilitator at the site where you are taking the class (Lehi Jr., Westlake High, Spanish Fork High).  If they found it, they'll keep it in their offices until the end of the semester.  If the janitor finds it, then it will be left with the administration of that school.  The staff at UVU West @ the National Guard Building also keeps lost and found in their office until the end of the semester as well as the Wasatch Campus.  If you left something in a class on campus, then it is turned over to Lost and Found located at the UVU Police department.  At the end of the semester, all lost and found is turned into the UVU Lost and Found.  Office hours are M-F 8:00 am - 11:00 am and 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.  Lost and Found is located in the Gunther Trades Building in GT 331.
