Transportation: Shuttle from hotel to event and back provided edach day - attendees are responsible for transportation between airport and hotel. 

As with prior events, this is a technical conference with about half of the content provided by Microsoft speakers and half by peer speakers. We focus a lot of attention on content and presenters and strive to bring together excellent content from both Microsoft and peers. A large part of the motivation for holding the event on the Microsoft campus is greater access to high level Microsoft presenters.

Lilly Conferences have provided professional opportunities for the
presentation of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning for 29 years.
Participants come from a multitude of disciplines throughout the United
States and abroad.

The overarching theme for the Lilly Conferences 2010 is Evidence-Based Teaching and Learning. This theme was chosen to reflect that approaches to teaching and learning should be based on scholarly activity. Tracks this year at the DC venue include Advancing Active Learning, Teaching Responsibly with Technology, Preparing Future Faculty, and Creating Communities of Learners.

Registration is $395, hotel guest rooms are $99 per night (up to quad occupancy), and you will be attending and/or presenting at a National Conference with 3 full days of programming.  All that, plus a great track record of both quality and community.

The annual Conference on Higher Education Pedagogy is focused on higher education teaching excellence and the scholarship of teaching and learning. The conference showcases the best pedagogical practice and research in higher education today. Sessions address disciplinary and interdisciplinary instructional strategies, outcomes, and research. Ultimately, the conference is an opportunity to demonstrate effective instructional practice and disseminate the latest research aimed at improving the quality of higher education. The program committee invites proposals for Research, Practice or Poster sessions.

Keynote Speakers

Lisa R. Lattuca,
Senior Research Associate for the Center for the Study of Higher Education will be the opening keynote speaker. Based on interviews with faculty, she will provide a grounded representation of interdisciplinarity, including the processes faculty employ in pursuing interdisciplinarity and the interdisciplinary contexts in which faculty work.

Mary Taylor Huber, Senior Scholar at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching will be the closing keynote speaker and will focus on the teaching commons, a conceptual space in which communities of educators committed to inquiry and innovation come together to exchange ideas about teaching and learning, and use them to meet the challenges of educating students for personal, professional, and civic life.
