Engaging Faculty in Teaching and Learning

Student Consultants On Teaching (SCOTs)—

SCOT consultants are UVU students who have been trained to provide faculty members with valuable feedback on their teaching, as well as enhance student learning in the classroom. Student Consultants are carefully selected high-achieving UVU students who have an interest in the teaching and learning process. Students are recruited from all departments. They provide faculty with invaluable feedback on their classes, and work as an ally with professors to maximize the effectiveness of their teaching and increase student learning.

As with the Advising Program, all records of SCOT involvement with a faculty member are considered confidential and for formative assessment purposes. No feedback or information will be shared with department chairs, deans, or RTP committees without the express consent of the faculty member, so you do not have to worry about being evaluated by others in ways that could affect your career.
