About the Scholarship of Teaching and Engagement (SoTE) Conference

What is SOTE?
The Scholarship on Teaching and Engagement (SOTE) Conference is held annually at UVU by the Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence (FCTE) in collaboration with other organizations on the UVU Campus and throughout Utah with a focus on engaged teaching, learning, and assessment. UVU's mission is to provide high quality student education. SoTE presents the cutting edge in best practices in education, student learning, and assessment at the course, program, and institutional levels. Every year there is a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, and a poster session for faculty, staff, and students.
. SoTE brings together educators from UVU and other institutions throughout the region to present their research on teaching, learning, student engagement, and assessment. UVU students also present posters from their Utah Conference for Undergraduate Research (UCUR) or National Conference for Undergraduate Research (NCUR) projects.
