Academic Merit Scholarships
Deadline - February 1
New Students
- You must be admitted to UVU.
- Provide the Admissions & Registration Office with an official copy of your high school grade transcript.
- Submit ACT or SAT Scores
Presidential = 'P'
- Full tuition, fees, and a stipend will be awarded depending upon the availability of funds.
- Residents and non-residents may apply.
- Retention criteria: 3.7 cumulative GPA and have 12 'earned' credit hours per semester.
- If retention criteria are met this scholarship is renewable for a maximum of eight semesters or the completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever comes first.
Exemplary = 'E'
- Full tuition will be awarded depending upon the availability of funds.
- Residents and non-residents may apply; however, non-residents will only be awarded the equivalent of resident tuition for the first year. (Non-residents will be responsible for the remaining balance.)
- Retention criteria: 3.5 cumulative GPA and have 12 'earned' credit hours per semester.
- If retention criteria are met this scholarship is renewable for a maximum of eight semesters or the completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever comes first.
Outstanding = 'O'
- Full tuition will be awarded depending upon the availability of funds.
- Residents and non-residents may apply; however, non-residents will only be awarded the equivalent of resident tuition. (Non-residents will be responsible for the remaining balance.)
- To retain this scholarship for the present year, you must maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have 12 'earned' credit hours per semester.
- Retention criteria: 3.5 cumulative GPA and have 12 'earned' credit hours per semester.
- Due to limited funding, this scholarship is NOT guaranteed to renew even if retention criteria are met.
Distinguished = 'D'
- Half tuition will be awarded depending upon the availability of funds.
- Residents only may apply.
- To retain this scholarship for the present year, you must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and have 12 'earned' credit hours per semester.
- This scholarship is NOT renewable.
Transfer Students
- You must be admitted to UVU.
- Must have completed 30-150 transfer credit hours (concurrent enrollment and AP classes not included) before the February 1 deadline.
- Minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA.
- Submit official college grade transcript(s) to the Admissions Office.
NOTE: If you have a bachelor´s degree, you are not eligible to apply.
No scholarships are available if transferring above 150 credit hours.

- Residents and non-residents may apply; however, non-residents will only be awarded the equivalent of resident tuition.
- To retain this scholarship for the present year, you must maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have 12 'earned' credit hours per semester.

- This scholarship is NOT renewable.
