Academic Merit

student_with_laptop3 The Academic Merit Scholarship is available for new and transfer students and is based on academic performance from high school or from the transferring college. Both Utah Residents and Non-Residents may apply. The online comprehensive scholarship application is not required. Dean's Merit

The Dean's Merit Scholarship is available for incoming freshman and transfer students, as well as continuing students. The Dean's Merit Scholarship is major-specific with additional criteria determined by the department. Residency is required, as well as the online comprehensive Scholarship Application ('Apply Here' button). For more information, please visit www.uvu.edu/scholarships/deansmerit.html.

Exceptional Performance

Exceptional Performance scholarships are available for both Resident and Non-Resident students. Areas include music, dance, theater, athletics, student government, and Wolverine Ambassador (residents only) and Sterling Scholar (residents only). You must contact the department for deadlines and specific requirements such as auditions or tryouts. Leadership

Leadership Program scholarships are available for incoming freshman and transfer students. The online comprehensive Scholarship Application ('Apply Here' button) is required. Categories include Honors and Presidential Leadership. For more information, please visit www.uvu.edu/scholarships/leadership.html.

Need Based

students_in_a_circleNeed-based scholarships are available for incoming freshman and transfer students, as well as continuing students. Residency is required, as well as the online comprehensive Scholarship Application ('Apply Here' button). In addition, you may complete the FASFA or the "FAFSA 4caster" located on the FAFSA page under "Thinking About College?" Need-based categories include Center for Personal and Career Development, Cultural Diversity, Trio, and Upward Bound/Talent Search. Alumni Legacy

Alumni Legacy scholarships are available for incoming non-resident freshman students who have at least one parent who holds a degree from Utah Valley University, Utah Valley State College, Utah Valley Community College, or Utah Technical College/Provo. Border Waiver

Border Waiver scholarships are available for incoming non-resident freshman living within a certain radius of UVU's Orem or Wasatch campus. Wolverine Ambassador

The Utah Valley University Wolverine Ambassador Program is designed for top student leaders, providing opportunities for leadership development through a variety of activities involving recruitment, campus outreach, and much more. The unique role of being a Wolverine Ambassador places you in a continuously visible position. Please be aware, this program requires a significant amount of time as our Ambassadors are involved in many aspects of UVU recruitment. Graduate Student Scholarships

Generally, graduate students who have previously earned a bachelor's degree are NOT eligible to apply for UVU scholarships (however, please check with your department for other scholarships that may be available). Also, there may be some outside scholarship resources available. http://www.studentaid.ed.gov is also a resource available for outside scholarship searches (go to 'Tools & Resources' -> 'Scholarship Search'). Outside Scholarships

Outside scholarships are scholarships which the UVU online comprehensive Scholarship Application does not cover. They are different than private scholarships in that many of the private scholarships are covered through successful completion of the UVU online application. Privately Funded

Privately funded scholarships, both academic and need-based, are available to both Utah Residents and Non-Residents. The online comprehensive Scholarship Application ('Apply Here' button) is required.
