Freshman and Transfer Students
Submission Deadline: February 1
Freshman and transfer students are students that are considered 'new' to UVU. Freshman students could be just graduating from high school or are just begining to enroll in college level courses. A student with any amount of concurrent enrollment or AP classes is still considered a new student for scholarship purposes. Transfer students are students that have attended another college after graduating from high school. and completed 12 or more credit hours at that other college, but are new to UVU. Any amount less than 12 credit hours from a different college would be considered a freshman.
UVU has scholarships to award from several areas on campus that take into consideration a wide range of criteria that are discovered by the online scholarship application. Scholarships are awarded on a yearly or semester-by-semester basis. To be considered for most scholarships, applicants must be admitted to UVU, submit ACT Scores (if applicable), submit their high school or college transcript, which ever is appropriate and complete the online comprehensive scholarship application by February 1.The application will not be considered complete until all requirements are met. Applications received after the deadline will receive a second priority consideration.
Utah Resident

- Outside Scholarships (not affiliated with UVU)
- Privately Funded Scholarships
- Students who have graduated with a BS and/or BA degree are not eligible
- No scholarships are available for transfer students with 90 or more credit hours
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Eligible Non-Citizen to apply
- More than one scholarship may be awarded.

Non-Utah Resident
UVU is a state funded institution, and due to state mandates there are a limited number of scholarships available for non-resident students. Please inspect each scholarship for additional requirements for eligibility:
- Academic Merit
- Non-Resident (Out-of State) Waiver
- Exceptional Performance
- Alumni Legacy - freshman only
- Border Waiver - freshman only
- Outside Scholarships (not affiliated with UVU)

Privately Funded Scholarships
- Global Aviation students are only eligible for a limited number of Privately Funded scholarships (depending on availability of funds).
- Students who have graduated with a BS and/or BA degree are not eligible
- Students enrolled in - ESL and/or Global Aviation programs are not eligible
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Eligible Non-Citizen to apply
- More than one scholarship may be awarded
