Your College Experience Starts Here!

Are you ready for Monday, August 26th?! We know it's a busy day—in fact that's why Freshman Convocation happens on the very first day of school. We want to show you how to take all of your energy and enthusiasm for college and put it to good use, so that you can have the best freshman year possible!

Read the instructions below carefully and they should answer all your questions about Freshman Convocation. If you still need assistance, please email success@uvu.edu and we will respond to your inquiry promptly!

Freshman Convocation Instructions

1. ATTENDANCE
All new freshmen, starting either summer or fall 2013, need to attend. Concurrent enrollment students attending UVU campus for the first time also need to attend (even if your earned credits exceed freshman status). Only those freshmen with a UVU Monday evening class are excused from attending. Freshman Convocation is a commemorative-style event and we encourage you to bring your immediate family with you to help celebrate the beginning of your college experience.

2. RSVP
You and your family will receive a FREE BBQ-style dinner. It is very important that you RSVP HERE so that we have an accurate meal count.

If you have difficulty opening the RSVP link above, you may also email your RSVP to success@uvu.edu. Please provide your name, UVID, and the number of family members attending with you.

3. ARRIVAL and SEATING
Please plan to arrive on campus by 5:20 p.m. to give you adequate time to park, walk to the UCCU Center, and find your seat. All freshmen will be sitting as a group on the main floor, with family members sitting in the arena stands. We request that all freshmen be in their seat by 5:50 p.m. Freshman Convocation begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.

4. PARKING
Please view the parking map for parking instructions (link on the left). To avoid traffic congestion at the main entrance, we encourage you to enter campus on 1200 West from Orem Center Street. Parking attendants will be present to help direct you to available parking.

5. ATTIRE
Attire is casual. The program will be held in the UCCU Center, then the venue shifts (outside) to the Courtyard for the BBQ and after-party. Please dress appropriately for a warm, summer evening outside (modest attire requested).

6. ACCOMMODATIONS
Accommodations are available upon request for persons with disabilities. Please contact the Office of Accessibility Services at least (3) three working days in advance of the activity to make arrangements at (801) 863-8747. TTY users may call (801) 863-0908.
