You'll hear it many, many times: It's important for new students to "get involved" on campus. It's true. Finding a way to plug-in outside of class actually increases your chances for college completion. Don't know where you fit in yet? Try engaging in an act of service. You'll meet new people, get a break from class routine, and enjoy the feel-good reward of helping others!

Service projects are a great way to connect your academic experience to real-life challenges and opportunities. Service days also strengthen your connection to your university community and your fellow students. Participation in at least one service activity is required for all first-year students taking CLSS 1000.
