Convocation Header

We are excited to welcome you to UVU! Your Freshman Convocation will help you feel truly at home at Utah Valley University--and make you proud to be a Wolverine!

You've chosen to attend a vibrant and growing campus, as evidenced by the seemingly endless construction projects currently happening on our campus. At least for a little while, parking may just be your greatest challenge at UVU--but we don't want it to be a challenge for you and your family as you arrive for Convocation.  So, use our tips and plan ahead. Sometimes just knowing what to expect helps make parking easier!

When Should I Plan to Arrive for Convocation?
The Convocation program will start promptly at 6:00 p.m. in the UCCU Center. All of the new freshmen will be seated together as a group on the main floor. Freshmen need to plan to arrive by 5:20 p.m. to find your seat.  That means you want to arrive at UVU between 5:00 p.m. and 5:15 to find parking, and walk from the parking lot to the UCCU Center.

Where Should I Park?
There are multiple lots located to the north of the UCCU Center (View Parking Map). We anticipate that the UCCU Visitor Parking Lot will fill quickly, so feel free to park in any of the parking areas noted in YELLOW on the parking map. We recommend parking lots L14 and L9 as they have the largest number of parking stalls. Don't worry about having a parking permit on that day. Parking Services will NOT ticket our Convocation guests. PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY TO OBTAIN PARKING AND FIND YOUR SEAT IN THE UCCU CENTER.

What Should I Wear?
Attire for Convocation is casual (no "grungy" or immodest attire, please). After the program inside the UCCU Center the activities will shift outside, so wear attire that will be comfortable for a warm summer evening.

Is My Whole Family Really Welcome to Attend?
Convocation is meant to be a commemorative event--like graduation--that you celebrate with your (immediate) family. Plus, we want your whole family to be excited about "Going Green!" Your family is welcome at the Convocation, and at the complimentary BBQ dinner afterward, too (that means free food!). If you haven't already done so, please RSVP so that we know how many meals to plan for.
