Career Exploration
Some of the many options available to you
UVU is committed to helping prospective, new and continuing students find the way through their future. This extends beyond just providing an education to providing assistance in deciding which major to study, counseling on how to reach career goals, and assistance in finding internships and jobs after graduation.
What do you want to be?
The Career and Academic Counseling Center
UVU’s Career and Academic Counseling Center (CACC) provides career and advising services to current and future students, as well as faculty, staff and community members. The CACC is an ideal starting point for those who are unsure of what they want to study or which careers are available to them.
Services provided by the CACC include academic advising, career exploration and assessment, occupational resources, transfer/graduation/professional information, academic standards support, advisor training, peer advising, and community outreach. The CACC employs more than 15 professional counselors, as well as support staff and peer advisors who recognize the worth and potential of each individual.
The CACC also provides career testing services, including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory.

After students have decided on a major and possible career options, they can then visit Career Services and Student Employment (CSSE) in order to further develop their career plan. CSSE assists students in finding jobs and internships related to their career choices. CSSE can help students find work part-time or full-time, on-campus or off-campus.
With the help of CSSE, students can explore career options, learn about graduate programs and internships, network with professionals in their field and work one-on-one with a career counselor. CSSE regularly holds Internship and Career Fairs, Employer Information Sessions, Part-time and Community Job Fairs and Graduate School Fairs that can assist students in finding their way through “life after graduation.”
